YouTube Monetization for Faceless Channels

YouTube Partner Program requirements

To earn a share of ad revenue, a channel joins the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). The main thresholds are:

PathWhat you need
Long videos1,000 subscribers and 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months
Shorts1,000 subscribers and 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days

You also need to follow YouTube's monetisation policies and community guidelines, live in an eligible country, have 2-step verification on and link an AdSense account. YouTube updates these rules from time to time, so always check the official YouTube Help page before applying.

Can faceless channels be monetised?

Yes. YouTube doesn't require you to show your face. What it looks at is whether your content is original and adds value. Faceless documentaries, explainers and list videos are monetised every day.

What about AI-made videos?

Using AI tools is allowed. Problems start when a channel uploads mass-produced, repetitive or reused content with little original value — the same template over and over, other people's videos re-uploaded, or slideshows with no real commentary. To stay safe:

Claims and strikes come from using footage, music or clips you don't have rights to. Stick to libraries that allow commercial use (Pexels, Pixabay), public-domain archives and royalty-free music with credit where required. CineRush only pulls from such sources and adds a licence report and music credit to every video.

Ways to earn beyond ads

Quick answers

How long does it take to get monetised?

It varies a lot. Channels that post consistently in one niche with strong thumbnails often reach the thresholds within months; some take longer.

Do I need to show my face to get approved?

No. Approval depends on originality and policy compliance, not on appearing on camera.
